Don't all of you just LOVE being in triage, or as I love to call it, "the pit". The one thing I do enjoy about being in the pit is seeing the sign in forms, they kinda make it a little fun. Here are a list of some of my favorite sign-in complaints:

Vomiking .... ( common, thats a classic)
heart hurts (for 3 years) and a tooth ack...
wont stop crying. (hey...its a newborn, thats what they do)
my ass is bleeding ... this one I actually laughed out loud at.
there's always the "I cant read you gotta fill this out" guy

I have seen alot of posts lately about how much everyone hates being in the pit. I figured I would put a little spin on things and see (if there is anyone reading this) what some of the funny sign in complaints you get are.

Post away....

What were they thinking?

I guess the better question, would be what the HELL were they thinking?
If you haven't already heard a Las Vegas endoscopy clinic has infected at least
85 patients and possibly another 300 more pts with Hep C. If there is actually anyone
who reads my blog, here is a link to read more about it.
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/05/09/health/main4083131.shtml

here is a little excerpt from this story:

"Authorities have said at least 50,000 patients may have been exposed to unsafe practices by clinic staff who reused syringes and single-use vials of medication during anesthesia. "

The story also states that the doctors that own the clinics have had their license suspended
pending investigation. What about the nursing staff, why have their license's not been suspended? These nurses know better and should not only have their licenses suspended
but should lose their ability to work as a nurse ever again.

``HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY~~

MY FIRST BLOG ENTRY.....

1ST. I want to wish my wife a very Happy Mother's Day, She is one great mother to our daughter. We are soon expecting our second child and even though it has been one huge roller coaster for her, I know she will be an even better mother this time around, if its possible to be any better. I love you.

Now for my Rant...well, not much of a rant, just more of an observation. The following has been pulled from wikipedia r/t USA's mother days celebration.

The United States celebrates Mother's Day on the second Sunday in May. In the United States, Mother's Day was loosely inspired by the British day and was imported by social activist Julia Ward Howe after the American Civil War. However, it was intended as a call to unite women against war. In 1870, she wrote the Mother's Day Proclamation as a call for peace and disarmament. Howe failed in her attempt to get formal recognition of a Mother's Day for Peace. Her idea was influenced by Ann Jarvis, a young Appalachian homemaker who, starting in 1858, had attempted to improve sanitation through what she called Mothers' Work Days. She organized women throughout the Civil War to work for better sanitary conditions for both sides, and in 1868 she began work to reconcile Union and Confederate neighbors.
When Jarvis died in 1907, her daughter, named Anna Jarvis, started the crusade to found a memorial day for women. The first such Mother's Day was celebrated in Grafton, West Virginia, on 10 May 1908, in the church where the elder Ann Jarvis had taught Sunday School. Originally the Andrews Methodist Episcopal Church, this building is now the International Mother's Day Shrine (a National Historic Landmark). From there, the custom caught on — spreading eventually to 45 states. The holiday was declared officially by some states beginning in 1912. In 1914 President Woodrow Wilson declared the first national Mother's Day, as a day for American citizens to show the flag in honor of those mothers whose sons had died in war.
Nine years after the first official Mother's Day, commercialization of the U.S. holiday became so rampant that Anna Jarvis herself became a major opponent of what the holiday had become. Mother's Day continues to this day to be one of the most commercially successful U.S. occasions. According to the National Restaurant Association, Mother's Day is now the most popular day of the year to dine out at a restaurant in the United States.
For example, according to IBISWorld, a publisher of business research, Americans will spend approximately $2.6 billion on flowers, $1.53 billion on pampering gifts — like spa treatments — and another $68 million on greeting cards [2]. Mother's Day will generate about 7.8% of the US jewelry industry's annual revenue in 2008. Americans are expected to spend close to $3.51 billion in 2008 on dining out for Mother's Day, with brunch and dinner being the most popular dining out options [3].

Holy Crap, thats a lot of money to say I LOVE YOU...
Today, as we spend an estimated 2.6 billion on flowers and 3.5 billion on lunch and dinner. there are families with no food to eat, no place to lay their heads tonight. In other countries, people are rioting and dying because of food pricing being so high they can not afford to feed their families. and we are spending about 10 billion dollars today to say I LOVE YOU MOM.
